Collaboration has always been an important factor here at One - whether it's through music, technology or artwork. In this spirit the return of Plosive brings us a showcase of covers, mixes and overhauls of many favorite releases from the past couple of years - including reworkings of Bad Loop, Jack Haberfield, Iua, Emil Klotzsch, Recue, Paranerd and Partikel.
With much of the source material in hand, they have been made his own through complete reinterpretation - lending to their individuality and personal touch in mood and style. Too often these days original works are masqueraded and passed off as mixes - here the art of the remix is key and in usual Plosive form the sounds are heavily rhythmic and melodic - focused through an alchemy of Dub, IDM, Techno and more.

The Power of One [From Gratisvibes.com]
Plosiveâs compilation of his remixes of other artists on the one label is a testament to the strongly collaborative nature of the netlabel ethic. Whereas remixes would normally be filler material on 12â³ dance records or artists desperately trying to namecheck each other, this compilation is good enough to stand on its own.
Plosive adds his delicate touch all over this release, with ethereal yet euphoric textures on tracks such as âhimankaâ and ânioâ. Its not all smooth ambient synth slabs as you can hear the mid tempo percussion glitching away busily in the background. The overall mood of the release is serene and reflective with intricate melodies that are given time and space to get into your head.
The closing track âjuniper treesâ rounds the release off with a nice calming ambient piece with a beautiful arpeggio.
